Directions for Return Liner and Floor Leaks
1. Determine water loss over a 24 hour period. If loss is an inch or less refill pool to original level. Mark water level with tape before adding product
2. Bypass filter media before adding Fix A Leak
Sand Filters – Set valve to recirculate
Cartridge Filters – Removal all cartridges
DE: Remove elements, proceed to circulate through empty tank. Never let DE Cartridges dry out.
Note – It is recommended to remove any sensors or salt chlorinators.
3. With pump running, add Fix A Leak slower through the skimmer
4. After adding Fix A Leak adjust suction to main drain. If this is not possible, use the vacuum cleaner to keep the product in suspension. With a robotic cleaner remove the bag or filter. If unable to use a vacuum cleaner you can manually brush bottom ever 1-2 hours.
5. Run circulation pump for 8-10 hours per day for return line leaks. After pump is shut of f this will allow the Fix A Leak, which is rather heavy, to settle to the floor of the pool. This should allow the product to be drawn into small hairline cracks in the concrete or pinhole leaks in the inground vinyl liner pools.
6. Check water level for the next 1-2 days to determine if the leak has stopped.
7. If the leak has slowed but not sealed completely you may add an additional Fix A Leak 32 oz bottle. Follow the same procedure from directions #3-#6
8. If the seal is successful allow 48 hours with the pump off to ensure level holds. This will also allow the fix a leak to settle to the bottom of the pool. You may now vacuum out the Fix A Leak either to backwash or waste.
