Installation Tips
- Always perform any work with the hot tub GFCI powered off
- Start by unplugging the old control panel from the circuit board, plug in the new one to make sure it works so you know this is going to solve your problem. Always have the power off when plugging in or unplugging any connections or control panels.
- Check to make sure there is some control panel cable slack in the equipment area so when the old panel is lifted you are not yanking any wire(s) on the system. Unplug the connector from the circuit board if you haven’t already done so
- Peel the overlay/sticker off the topside control panel exposing 2 screws that secure the panel to the hot tub shell. Remove the 2 screws.
- Gently lift the control panel using a flat-head screwdriver or butter knife. Use a soft cloth against the shell so the acrylic is not damaged
- Once the panel is lifted, tie a 5+ foot piece string or rope to the control panel cable connector in the equipment area before pulling the cable up, make sure it is tied tight. This will save you a lot of time in the next steps
- Pull the control panel away from the hot tub and pull cable through the conduit. Make sure your string or rope is long enough you can still grab it up top and below in the equipment area.
- Separate the cable connector from the rope/string. Attach the new control panel cable to the rope/strong where the topside control panel is. Pull the rope/string back down at the bottom so the new control panel cable can be fished through the hot tub conduit. This is where you just saved yourself a lot of time so you don’t have to find a way to fish the new cable through the conduit
- Clean the acrylic shell where the panel will make contact so the adhesive gasket sticks well. Make sure you have the panel orientation correct. Remove the adhesive gasket on the underside of the new control panel. Pull the lower cable in the equipment area slowly while guiding the control panel into place so the cable doesn’t bunch up under the panel. Press the panel firmly against the shell so the adhesive gasket sticks well. Apply the topside control panel overlay, be sure the orientation is correct. Reinstall the 2x screws in step #4. Plug the connector into the circuit board, replace the box face cover plate, turn the hot tub power on
