Water Bag Cover or Tarp Cover
This large winter pool cover fits neatly over the pool and leaves several feet of material on all sides. The tarp has loops attached to it where water bags are secured to hold the tarp down, keeping debris and sunlight out of the pool throughout the winter.
When using this type of winter pool cover, be sure to use water bags to keep it from falling into the pool. You may need to pump off any debris or stagnant water that could collect atop it, and make sure to clean any debris trapped between the deck and the cover to prevent it from staining your deck. Despite these potential drawbacks, this is the most economical winter cover.
Perfect for rectangular pools, this affordable option lasts up to five seasons, and is available in-store for purchase without pre-ordering.
Lock-in covers are a great choice for vinyl liner pools with double aluminum tracks (not included) or liner pools without a 3-foot wide deck around them. This cover does a great job keeping dirt and debris out of your pool, the water cleaner than any other type of winter pool cover, and prevents deck clutter or potential deck staining.
If you choose this model of winter pool cover, we’ll need precise measurements of your pool to ensure a perfect fit using the auto cad design program. As with the water bag cover, you may need to pump off any debris or stagnant water that could collect atop it. Install time to secure this cover is longer when compared to other types of covers, but worth the effort because it keeps your pool cleaner than any other cover!
You can expect this cover to last up to 8 years.
Safety covers are made from selected mesh materials that will not allow water to become stagnate on top, although some fine debris may still collect in your pool. Each cover is made with CAD (Computer Aided Design) technology, ensuring complete accuracy when being designed and created, regardless of your pool’s shape, for a perfect fit.
Anchors drilled into the pool deck secure the cover, whether the deck is interlock, concrete, lawn, or garden. These anchors lift up in the winter to provide a locking point for the safety cover, but are then flush with the pool deck while the pool is open. Tension springs with straps are attached from the anchors to the cover to ensure it can hold a large amount of weight without falling into the pool, even if you were to stand on it!
It is optimal to have a 3-foot deck perimeter around your pool for this installation, however they can be customized to conform to almost any pool shape, size or feature such as stairs, waterfalls or raised walls. Please order well before your pool closing date to allow time for professional pool measurement and the cover’s custom construction.
This clean-looking option comes with a 15-20 year pro-rated warranty.
Winter Pool Cover Installation
Lakeshore Pools & Hot Tubs can also install your winter pool cover if you book a pool closing with us, ensuring a proper custom fit for pools of every size and shape. Our written quotes always include the cover, installation (with closing), and everything needed for the install including the necessary hardware. No hidden fees – ever.
Please note that we always quote for a custom fitted cover, regardless of the shape of your pool. Our pool experts will never recommend purchasing a rectangular cover for a non-rectangular pool as it voids the manufacturer’s warranty, and could result in an unsatisfactory performance.
