When warmer weather is upon us, thoughts of fun with family and friends in the backyard come to mind. Much of that fun involves your pool.
But before you dive in, you need to properly open your pool. Opening a pool is more than just filling it with water. There are a lot of steps to take that will prepare your pool for use and keep it running at peak efficiency.

Standard Plus Package
Package Includes:
- pumping water off winter cover
- removing and rinse the winter cover with hose (cleaning product not included)
- folding and storing winter cover onsite
- bagging winter cover debris and placing curbside
- attaching pool ladders, pool lights, and pool fittings *
- inspecting pool accessories and pool equipment (excluding diving board)
- cleaning pool waterline of winter debris
- starting up pool system (excluding heater**)
- applying startup pool chemical package (MSRP $65 – shock and algaecide)
Traditional Opening to get your pool operational**
(Maximum time allocated 2 hours x 2 person crew) ****
Deluxe Package
Package Includes:
- pumping water off winter cover
- removing and thoroughly cleaning the winter cover with BioGuard® Stow Away
- folding and storing the winter cover onsite
- bagging winter cover debris and placing curbside
- attaching pool ladders, pool lights, and pool fittings *
- inspecting pool accessories and pool equipment (excluding diving board)
- cleaning pool waterline of winter debris
- starting up pool system (excluding heater**)
- applying deluxe startup pool chemical package: Initial Shock, Premium Algaecide, Stain & Scale, Clarifiers (MSRP $116)
- complete 1 hour vacuum using our industrial-grade equipment
- blowing pool deck and surrounding area clear of debris before leaving
- additional pool water testing and pool chemical balancing (chemicals sold separately) on return visit after approximately 1 week
Hands-off Opening to get your pool swim ready**
(Maximum time allocated 3 hours x 2 person crew) ****
Saltwater Customers
NOTE: Pool Openings do NOT include any repairs to the pool or equipment. Please contact us to book a separate service call for any services not listed in any of our pool opening packages.
If we are unable to start the pool system due to low water levels we will leave the system primed and ready. Once water level is up, all you need to do is turn on the pump.
Please make sure you leave your salt cell out for the pool technician to reinstall at the time of opening.
Please be aware the salt generator will not start generating until the pool reaches at temperature of at least 70F°/21°C and salt has been adjusted to the correct level. To provide initial chlorine for the pool before the salt generator starts, we include a complimentary application of chlorine pucks in the skimmer basket at no extra charge.
*Per guidelines from the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada and Industry Standards for Improved Safety, we legally cannot attach or remove diving boards from the pool due to safety issues.
** Our pool technicians are not licensed gas fitters, therefore they are not legally allowed to turn on the gas to your heater or start the heater. Pool heaters should have an annual inspection from a TSSA licensed gas fitter. Please contact us if you would like us to refer you to one.
****Extra time is charged at $150/hour at the beginning of each additional hour
