and Repair

IMPORTANT: Due to staff shortages these services are no longer available for the season

We Can Help Detect and Repair Leaks

The water level in your pool may fluctuate somewhat, due to evaporation, splashing, and backwash wastewater. If you’re adding more than two inches of water every week to maintain your pool’s water level, there could be a leak in your pool.

If you suspect you have a leak, you need to act quickly before the situation gets worse. Early detection and repair is key to keeping costs to fix the leak as low as possible.

Pool Leak Detection

But before calling in the pool professionals, there are some things you can do to determine the severity and general location of the leak, or if the drop in water level is simply due to evaporation.

Our pool leak detection experts use a variety of tools and methods to locate the leak, including pressure testing, LeakTrac detectors, sonic equipment, geophones, and tiny cameras to scope the water lines. In most cases, we can determine the leak location within a few inches before any digging starts.

Our fees for detecting a pool leak are not based on time, but rather the equipment and expertise required. All prices below are the minimum charge and the time allocation per call for the pool leak detection service.

Before Calling

If the tests were inconclusive, or indicated a leak, the pool experts at Lakeshore Pools & Hot Tubs can help. We use state-of-the-art technology not only to pinpoint your leak, but also to repair it.

Pressure Test & Geophone

  • Isolate, cap and pressurize underground plumbing lines to determine if they are leaking via pressure loss
  • If a leaking pipe is found, we hone in on it’s precise location using specialized equipment to avoid unnecessary digging
  • In most cases, the repair is quoted and charged separately after the detection service is completed

LeakTrac Detection

  • State of the art equipment is used to electronically pinpoint the location of liner leaks smaller than the human eye can detect
  • If a leak is found, we will apply a vinyl patch (patches are $25 each). Patches that cannot be reached from the pool deck require a Dive Call (charged separately) to properly apply the patch
  • Note: Not applicable for concrete pool leaks. Liners older than 8-10 years may not allow a patch to adhere.

Concrete Pool Leak Detection

  • Begins with a visual inspection to ensure we do not overlook potential underlying issues
  • Test skimmer, returns, lights, fittings and anything that is accessible from the pool deck
  • We conclude with a dive call to test the main drain, inspect pool surface for potential leaks and any areas that were not accessible in the first 2 tests
  • Does not include testing of the underground pipes (see Pressure Test + Geophones for that service)
  • Note: Not applicable for vinyl pool leaks
